The research aim is to determine relevance, concistency and practicality of research-based learning model in biology education. This is an educational design research with four stages; preliminary, prototype, assessment and systematic of documentation and reflection. The instrument is validation sheets and student achievement test. The qualitative data were analyzed with reduction, display and conclusion. The quantitative data were analyzed with descriptive statistics. The research results showed that the prototype has a good content and construct validity. There is a need for the intervention, and its design based on state-of-the-art, the reviews of a number of theories and experts and logical intervention. The results showed the intervent...
