<p>Animal 5. The colored panels show the spatial distribution of the ΔV(t) for stimulus durations 25 ms and 133 ms at different times after stimulus onset as indicated in ms for each frame shown. The borders of the cytoarchitectural areas are marked with magenta; these borders mark also the vertical meridians. The black curves show the mean ΔV(t) from the square representation site at the cytoarchitectural border between areas 17 and 18 for each of the stimulus conditions. Note that all significant (p<0.01) ΔV(t) increases outlasts the stimulus by more than 100 ms. The post stimulus histogram from a single recording site at the square representation at the 17/18 border is shown corresponding to the stimulus duration indicated to the left. Note the truncation of the ON response at 25 ms giving a significant firing duration of 24 ms (significant firing p<0.01 marked with red bins), and the response to 50 ms giving a significant firing duration of 48 ms.
