Tanshinone IIA upregulated the protein level of p27 in PASMCs under hypoxic condition.

<p>Effects of tanshinone IIA on p27 protein (A) and mRNA (B) in PASMCs under normoxic (21% O₂) or hypoxic (3% O₂) condition. Beta-actin was used as control. Hypoxia for 24 h significantly decreased the protein level but not the mRNA level of p27in PASMCs (<i>*P</i><0.05 vs normoxia group, mean ± SEM, n = 3). Tanshinone IIA at 10 µg/mL had no significant effects on the mRNA level of p27 in PASMCs under both hypoxic and normoxic condition, but significantly upregulated the protein level of p27 under hypoxic condition (<i>^#P</i><0.05 vs hypoxia group, mean ± SEM, n = 3).
