<p>(A) Hermaphrodite self-progeny showing that <i>spe-46(hc197)</i> is a recessive suppressor of <i>spe-27(it132)</i> sterility. (B) In an otherwise wild-type background, selfing <i>spe-46</i> hermaphrodites exhibit a conditional spermatogenesis defect that is rescued by mating with N2 males. Further, the <i>spe-46</i> defect is recessive. (C) Male <i>spe-46</i> mutant worms display a temperature-sensitive sperm defect when mating with spermless <i>fem-1(hc17ts)</i> hermaphrodites, being most fertile at 15°C.
