Bacterial loads in lungs of WT and <i>st2</i>^−/− mice during postinfluenza pneumonia.

<p>WT (solid whiskers) and <i>st2</i>^−/− mice (open whiskers) were infected with 1.5×10⁴ of <i>S. pneumoniae</i> 14 days post influenza A inoculation. Mice were sacrificed at 6, 24 or 48 hours after secondary infection and bacterial loads were determined in Lung (A), Blood (B), Liver (C) and Spleen (D).
