<p>Example stimuli and sequence timing from a single trial when peripheral (E1 and E3) and central (E2 and E4) signals were used to prompt responses. Each trial began with a drift correction procedure that required the participant to press the space bar with their left hand while fixating within the fixation circle. The fixation array was then displayed for 500 ms after which the first signal (S1) was displayed for 300 ms. Following the offset of S1, fixation was displayed for 200 ms followed by a cue-back stimulus (change of the fixation circle outline from 4 px to 8 px weight) for 300 ms.
