The reaction of the ene-diamine LH<sub>2</sub> (L = [ArNC(Me)C(Me)NAr]<sup>2–</sup>, Ar = 2,6-<i>i</i>Pr<sub>2</sub>C<sub>6</sub>H<sub>3</sub>) with AlMe<sub>3</sub> and AlEt<sub>3</sub> yielded the aluminum dimethyl complex (LH)AlMe<sub>2</sub> (<b>1</b>) and the radical (L<sup>•</sup>)AlEt<sub>2</sub> (<b>2</b>; L<sup>•</sup> = [ArNC(Me)C(Me)NAr]<sup>•–</sup>), respectively.
