Kemampuan Representasi Matematis Menyelesaikan Soal Open-ended Menurut Tingkat Kemampuan Dasar Materi Segiempat di SMP

This research aims to find out students' mathematical representation ability in solving open ended problems based on students' basic skill level in quadrangle topic. This research method was descriptive method with survey form. The subject of this research was class VIII A of SMP N 5 Pontianak. The result of data analysis showed that students with high basic skill had high visual representation ability, intermediate symbolic representation ability, and low verbal representation ability. Students with intermediate basic skill had intermediate visual representation ability, intermediate symbolic representation ability, and very low verbal representation ability. Students with low basic skill had intermediate visual representation ability, low symbolic representation ability, and very low verbal representation ability
