<i>Bone Marrow Soup</i> re-established saliva secretion following irradiation.

<p><b>A.</b> At week 8 post-irradiation, BM Soup-treated mice (<i>IR+BMSoup</i>) had their salivary flow rate (SFR; ul/min/per g of body weight) restored to normal levels (100%; 0.4 ul/min) when compared to sham-irradiated mice (<i>Control</i>) and those transplanted with whole live BM cells (<i>IR+BM</i>). Mice receiving an intravenous injection of PBS (<i>IR+PBS</i>; vehicle control group) had 60% reduction in SFR (* P<0.05). <b>B.</b> Weights of the salivary glands relative to 100g of their body weights were higher in <i>IR+BMSoup</i> and <i>IR+BM</i> mice (* P<0.05). <b>C.</b> Saliva levels of epidermal growth factor (EGF) were not statistically different among the four groups of mice (P>0.05).
