Intra-glandular and intravenous injections of <i>BM Soup</i> were both effective for restoration of salivary organ function.

<p>A. At week 8 post-irradiation, mice that were injected with BM Soup, either intra- glandularly (<i>BMSoup gland</i>) or intra-venously (<i>BMSoup iv</i>), had their salivary flow rate restored to normal levels (100%; 0.4 ul/min) when compared to sham-irradiated mice (<i>Control</i>). Mice that were irradiated and not treated (<i>IR</i> group) had 60% reduction in SFR (*P<0.05, **P<0.01; N = 5 to 9 mice per group). B. Weights of the salivary glands were higher in <i>BMSoup</i>-treated mice, either by intra-glandular or by IV injection. C. Both intra-glandular and IV delivered <i>BMSoup</i>-treated mice had a comparable percentage of surface area occupied by acinar cells as Control (sham-irradiated) mice. Irradiated mice injected with PBS had significantly a lower percentage of surface area with acinar cells.
