MNP bound BDNF reverses morphine induced CREB downredulation in astrocytes.

<p>(A) Morphine significantly downregulated CREB gene expression. Astrocytes (1X10⁶/ml) were cultured with or without morphine (10⁻⁷ M) for 48 hrs; RNA was extracted, reverse transcribed, cDNA amplified, and gene expression of CREB was determined by real-time quantitative PCR. These data are the mean ± SD of 3 separate experiments. (B) Astrocytes (3X10⁶/ml) were cultured with free and bound BDNF 24 hr before morphine (10⁻⁷ M) treatment. RNA was extracted, reverse transcribed, cDNA amplified, and gene expression of CREB was determined by real-time quantitative PCR. These data are the mean ± SD of 3 separate experiments.
