Primary cultures of chick gizzard cells express specific smooth muscle markers.

<p>Cells were grown for 24 h, fixed and immunostained for the smooth muscle markers caveolin-3 (green, <b>A</b> and <b>D</b>), tropomyosin (red, <b>B</b> and <b>E</b>), and alpha-actin (green, <b>C</b> and <b>F</b>). Arrow in (<b>D</b>) point to a filamentous distribution of caveolin-3, arrows in (<b>E</b>) and (<b>F</b>) points to stress fibers.
