<p>Islets from female (A, B) and male (C, D) offspring were incubated with the indicated glucose concentrations for 1 h, and the accumulated amount of insulin was determined. A and C, at 3 months old; B and D, at 8 months old. Results are expressed as as mean ± SE of eight replicates from three independent isolations.
