<p>cIMT categories correspond to total cIMT quartiles, calculated as the media of the sum of all cIMT measurements and divided as follows: 1^st quartile (category 1): 0.49–0.65 mm; 2^nd quartile (category 2): ≥0.65–0.78 mm; 3^rd quartile (category 3): ≥0.78–0.98 mm; 4^th quartile (category 4): ≥0.98–1.80 mm.
