Plasma levels of ammonium and urea increased with TTA-treatment.

<p>Male Wistar rats were fed high fat diets supplemented with 0.375% (w/w) tetradecylthioacetic acid (TTA), 10% (w/w) fish oil (FO) or a combination of TTA and FO (TTA+FO) for 50 weeks, and ammonium (A) and urea (B) was measured. Values given are means ± SD (n = 10). Asterix indicates statistical significance of variance ratio and effects of TTA analyzed by two-way ANOVA, and clams indicate the two diet groups that contain TTA (*p<0.05; ***p<0.001).
