Reaction of <b>2</b> with HBF<sub>4</sub> generates the hydrido–butenylcarbyne complex [OsHCl<sub>2</sub>(CC(PPh<sub>3</sub>)CH(Et))(PPh<sub>3</sub>)<sub>2</sub>]BF<sub>4</sub> (<b>3</b>).
