Knockdown of Nrf2 abrogates resveratrol-mediated protection of LPS induced cell death in human cardiomyocytes.

<p>The cells were transfected with a scramble control siRNA or Nrf2 siRNA, and were then treated with resveratrol, followed by LPS. Cell viability was analyzed by MTT assay (<b><i>A</i></b>). *p<0.05 vs Control, #p<0.05 vs the corresponding LPS treatment, n = 4/group. The cell expression of Nrf2 target gene HO-1 and GCLM were measured by real-time RT-PCR (<b><i>B and C</i></b>). Knockdown of Nrf2 protein in the cells treated with resveratrol was confirmed with Western Blot analysis of the nuclear extracts (<b><i>D</i></b>).
