The reaction of [Cp(η<sup>5</sup>-C<sub>5</sub>H<sub>4</sub>CH<sub>2</sub>SiMe<sub>2</sub>H)TiCl<sub>2</sub>] (<b>1</b>; Cp = η<sup>5</sup>-C<sub>5</sub>H<sub>5</sub>) and methanol in the presence of catalytic amounts of B(C<sub>6</sub>F<sub>5</sub>)<sub>3</sub> afforded a complex with a pendant silyl ether group, [Cp(η<sup>5</sup>-C<sub>5</sub>H<sub>4</sub>CH<sub>2</sub>SiMe<sub>2</sub>OMe)TiCl<sub>2</sub>] (<b>2</b>), in good yield.
