Elevated calpain protein in AngII infused calpain-1 +/+ and calpain-1 −/− aortas.

<p>Calpain-1 (<b>A</b>) and calpain-2 (<b>B</b>) proteins were detected by Western blotting in tissue extracts from aortas in calpain-1 +/+ x LDL receptor −/− and calpain-1 −/− x −/− LDL receptor −/− mice infused with either saline or AngII for 7 days. β-actin was shown as loading control. Calpain-1 (<b>A</b>) and calpain-2 (<b>B</b>) protein abundance was quantified by image analysis. Images are representative out of 4 independent experiments.
