Immunization with Bm-TPP induced heightened immune response in <i>M. coucha</i>.

<p>Splenocytes harvested from control, infected control and immunized-infected <i>M. coucha</i> were stimulated <i>in vitro</i> with mitogen Con A (2.5 µg/ml) and Bm-TPP (2.5 ug/ml). Levels of IL-2 (<b>A</b>), IFN-γ (<b>B</b>), TNF-α (<b>C</b>), IL-4 (<b>D</b>) and IL-10 (<b>E</b>) in the cell free supernatants were measured using cytometric beads by flow cytometry. (<b>F</b>) Splenocytes harvested on day 180 post challenge from the control and immunized <i>M. coucha</i> were <i>in vitro</i> stimulated with Con A (2.5 µg/ml) and Bm-TPP (2.5 µg/ml). Significant cellular proliferation could be observed in the immunized animals even after establishment of patent infection. Bars represent the mean ± S.E. (n = 13).
