<p>Leaves were infiltrated with Agrobacteria carrying a construct for constitutive expression of the GUS reporter gene (including an intron). Enzyme activity was assessed 5 dpi by infiltrating the leaf with substrate solution. The typical blue colour arises from β-glucuronidase-catalysed conversion of the substrate.</p
