A. Time related exploration measurements in the tunnel maze for the Cape mole-rat. The latency to enter the first tunnel was longer for laboratory animals, however the difference was not significant. The total time spent in the tunnels and the mean time per visit revealed no differences. B. Activity measures shows that wild Cape mole-rats were more active than their laboratory counterparts, both in terms of tunnel entries and the number of tunnels visited (max 3).
