When treated with DSS for 7 days, both WT and SPARC KO mice showed signs of inflammation: loose and bloody stool (solid triangle in E, I), thickening of colonic wall with reduction in translucency (F, J), altered vascular pattern <b>(</b>open triangle in F, J) and present of fibrin (arrow in G, K). The lowest panel (D, H, L) showed the colon closest to rectum, which has a different fibrosturcture to the distal and proximal colon.
