By using two-photon absorption spectroscopy we have performed time-integrated and time-resolved photolurninescence measurements on several coupled asymmetric GaN quantum discs, with embedded AlGaN barriers. We observe free-carrier screening, with an enhancement due to tunneling between the coupled quantum discs
