The reaction between the nickel(II) PCP pincer fluoride complex (<sup><i>t</i>Bu</sup>PCP)Ni(F) [<sup><i>t</i>Bu</sup>PCP = 2,6-C<sub>6</sub>H<sub>3</sub>(CH<sub>2</sub>P<sup><i>t</i></sup>Bu<sub>2</sub>)<sub>2</sub>] and the tungsten(II) carbonyl hydride CpW(H)(CO)<sub>3</sub> (Cp = η<sup>5</sup>-C<sub>5</sub>H<sub>5</sub><sup>–</sup>) leads to hydrofluoric acid evolution and formation of the bimetallic isocarbonylic species [CpW(CO)<sub>2</sub>(μ-κ,C:κ,O-CO)···Ni(<sup><i>t</i>Bu</sup>PCP)].
