<p>Acetyl-histone H3 and H4 proteins were analyzed by (<b>A</b>) Western blotting in normal ovarian tissues (No; <i>n</i> = 12), benign tumors (Be; <i>n</i> = 11), borderline tumors (Bo; <i>n</i> = 7), primary carcinomas (Ca; <i>n</i> = 68) and metastatic carcinomas in the omentum (n = 17). The expression levels of both acetyl-histone H3 and H4 are significantly higher in ovarian carcinoma than in benign tumors and normal ovarian tissues, and in borderline tumor than in normal ovarian tissues (B; <i>P</i> < 0.05); and are positively linked to differentiation (<b>D</b>), but not to FIGO staging (<b>C</b>) or pathological subtyping in ovarian carcinoma (<b>E</b>).</p
