<p>Storage inside the eye retain glutathione in the lens, although affected by a redox shift of decreased GSH and increased GSSG concentrations. GSSG quickly drop to similar levels as <i>in vitro</i> stored lenses, whereas GSH is lost at a slower rate without any rapid drops. Total glutathione is shown as full lines, GSH as large dotted and GSSG as small dotted lines. Bold lines show the progression in Optisol-GS and thin lines in castor oil.</p
