Whole organ cytokine levels in the kidneys of mice immunized with recombinant proteins.

<p>BALB/c mice were immunized with individual recombinant proteins or injected with antigen-free PBS and alum adjuvant. Two weeks after the last booster, the mice were infected with <i>S. aureus</i> MRSA252 (2.5×10⁸ CFU). Three days after infection, the kidneys of the mice were obtained and homogenized. The cytokine levels in organ homogenates were determined by ELISA. (A)IFN-γ, (B) IL-17A, and (C) CXCL2 expression in the kidneys.
