Chromatographic evidence for prey embalming by <i>T. elongatus</i> females.

<p>Total ion chromatograms of (<b>A</b>) a <i>T. hyalinata</i> control bee, (<b>B</b>) a provisioned <i>T. hyalinata</i> bee excavated from a <i>T. elongatus</i> nest, (<b>C</b>) the PPG content of a <i>T. elongatus</i> female and (<b>D</b>) the cuticle of the same <i>T. elongatus</i> female. The peaks of minor compounds are not always visible due to the magnification used. The numbers at the peaks correspond to the numbers in <a href="http://www.plosone.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pone.0082780#pone-0082780-t002" target="_blank">Table 2</a>. Unlabelled peaks are contaminations.
