Expression of mitochondrial respiratory chain subunits and OXPHOS associated carriers in INS-1E cells after stress exposure.

<p>(A) Transcript levels of <i>Cox5a</i> (complex IV), the phosphate carrier <i>Pic</i>, the ADP/ATP carriers <i>AAC1</i> and <i>AAC2</i>, the uncoupling proteins <i>Ucp2</i>, <i>Ucp4</i> and <i>Ucp5</i> were quantified as described in <a href="http://www.plosone.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pone.0082364#pone-0082364-g002" target="_blank">figure 2D</a>. Results are means ± SEM of 2 independent experiments done in triplicate. (B) Immunoblotting showing protein subunits of the five OXPHOS complexes and UCP2 (total cell extracts). Additionally, mitochondria (Mito) isolated from G11 cells were used as control.
