In this paper we endeavoured to bring to light some issues that haven’t been given an exhausting treatment yet as far as compound appraisors in the English language discourse is concerned. It is also worth noting that clarifying the essentials of emotive compounding based on metaphor and metonymy leaves room for further research 1) of polysemy, linguo-pragmatic and nationally culturological aspects of emotionallycharged compounds of negative or positive evaluation as well as 2) of the main compiling principles of compound appraisors thesaurus
