<p>A litter of 14.5-dpc fetuses were prepared from a crossing of a heterozygote male (−<sup>m</sup>/+) and wild-type female. Global gene expression analyses were performed with a set of total 8 embryo heads and placenta representing one of the following four combinations: male hetetrozygote and wild-type and female heteterozygote and wild-type. This series of expression analyses identified four groups of genes: up- and down-regulated gene sets for embryo head and placenta. These four groups of genes were used for identifying enriched pathways using the bioinformatics program EGAN (Explorative Gene Association Networks).
