<p>For each of the last 4 decades, we took the abstracts from a representative sample of refereed journal articles on infant and child development. We subjected these to four types of textual analysis in order to determine what, if any, trends were present. (1) We performed a set of concordance analyses to see what terms most frequently co-occurred and in what relation (2) We performed decade by decade frequencies count of commonly occurring terms. (3) We ran hierarchical cluster analyses by decade to see how keywords clustered and changed over time. (4) We performed a principle components analysis to identify more and thematic clusters. The results are presented in primarily visual format.</p
