Ferric Chloride-Catalyzed Reaction of [60]Fullerene with <i>tert</i>-Butyl <i>N</i>‑Substituted Carbamates: Synthesis of Oxazolidino[4,5:1,2][60]fullerenes

The rare oxazolidinofullerenes have been prepared by the ferric chloride-catalyzed reaction of [60]­fullerene with various <i>tert</i>-butyl <i>N</i>-substituted carbamates via <i>t</i>-Bu–O bond cleavage and heteroannulation under mild conditions. A possible mechanism for the formation of oxazolidinofullerenes is proposed
