<p><i>E. coli</i> wild type strain TP2101 and <i>cya</i> mutant TP2006 were co-transformed with pKU700 and pTS174. Transformants were grown in LB medium supplied with the increasing concentrations of mMBA as the inducer and then measured the β-galactosidase activities. The results are the mean of at least three independent experiments and include the standard deviation. Note the different induction profile of <i>Pu</i> promoter in TP2101 (black bars) and TP2006 (gray bars).</p
