<div><p></p><p><i>Background and purpose.</i> Optical surface detection has attractive features as a mean in radiotherapy for patient positioning tasks such as set-up, monitoring and gating. To aid in hitting radiotherapy targets the correlation between detected surface displacements and internal structure displacements is crucial.
