Tenascin-C induced MMP-1 secretion is mediated by the β1 and β3 integrin subunits.

<p>(a) ASM cells processed for flow cytometry were incubated with antibodies against the integrin subunits β1, β3 and the αvβ5 receptor prior to incubation with a fluorescently conjugated secondary antibody. (b) ASM cells were incubated with the same antibodies as listed above prior to stimulation with tenascin-C (10 µg/ml). Supernatant was harvested after 24 hours and assayed for MMP-1 protein.
