Nitric oxide metabolite (NOx) concentrations in mouse lung homogenates of untreated (naïve) control as well as <i>Pseudomonas</i> infected mice treated with PBS or the arginase inhibitor 2(S)-amino-6-boronohexanoic acid (ABH).

<p>Concentrations were significantly different between groups (p<0.0001, ANOVA). NOx levels in lung were lower in naïve compared to <i>Pseudomonas</i> infected and PBS treated mice (*: p<0.001, Mann-Whitney test). ABH treatment resulted in a significant increase in ABH vs. PBS treated animals (p<0.05, Mann-Whitney test). A similar increase in lung NOx after ABH treatment was seen in mice after intratracheal instillation of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) (p = 0.015, t-test).
