Effects of salusins on the expressions of VCAM-1 and MCP-1 mRNA in the aorta of mice.

<p>After 8 weeks of infusion with salusin-α or salusin-β, total RNA was extracted from the abdominal aortas of mice. The amounts of VCAM-1 and MCP-1 mRNA were then determined by Real-time quantitative PCR analysis. Con: the C57BL/6 control mice; ApoE-/-: the vehicle-treated apoE-/- mice; Sal-α: the salusin-α-treated apoE-/- mice; Sal-β: the salusin-β-treated apoE-/- mice. Data were normalized to the abundance of mRNA encoding β-actin, and expressed as mean±SD (<i>n</i> = 6). **<i>P</i><0.01 compared with the control group; ^##<i>P</i><0.01 compared with the apoE-/- group.
