<p><b>A.</b> Irradiation induced a significant decrease of CD11b gene expression compared to sham (Student’s t-Test; *<i>p<0.05</i>) but no changes in the phagocytic or haematopoetic markers CD68 or CD45 (Student’s t-Test; <i>p>0.05</i>). <b>B.</b> GFAP expression was significantly increased compared to sham (Student’s t-Test; *<i>p<0.05</i>). Conversely, there were no changes in gene expression for alternate markers associated with astrocyte activation: vimentin and S100β (Student’s t-Test; <i>p>0.05</i>).</p
