<p>Aldosterone (ALD) enhanced the renal expression of the nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain, leucine-rich repeat and pyrin domain containing (NLRP) 3 and caspase-1, and increased the number of TUNEL-positive cells—the hallmark of pyroptosis—whereas the increase in these factors was significantly suppressed by mizoribine (MZR).
