Kinetics of pro-inflammatory cytokines and iNOS gene expression determined by RT-PCR in the infected lungs.

<p>Castrated males and noncastrated male and female BALB/c mice were infected with <i>Mycobacterium tuberculosis</i> strain H37Rv and euthanized at different time-points. The lungs from three different animals at each time-point were used to determine the gene expression of the indicated cytokine. Asterisks represent statistical significance between the represented groups.
