The AMPK pathway was selectively activated in various human cancer cells treated with oleic acid.

<p>(A) The cells were incubated with 0.5% BSA or 400 µM of BSA-bound oleic acid for 48 hours. The levels of phosphorylated AMPK (Thr172), the total AMPK, pACC (Ser79), the total ACC, CPT1α and ATGL were determined by western blot analysis using 50 µg of the total proteins from each sample.
