Identification and complementation of PBP1A pathway mutants using a chemical genetic screen.

<p>(A) For the screen, an ordered <i>V. cholerae</i> transposon library was pintooled onto LB agar +/−5 mM D-Met and scored for growth deficiency in the presence of D-Met. (B) Growth of <i>V. cholerae</i> PBP1A pathway mutants containing either an empty vector (pHL) or a plasmid enabling inducible expression of the deleted gene (pHL<i>orf</i>) on plates containing inducer and 5 mM D-Met confirms that their growth deficiencies on D-Met are due to deletion of the indicated genes.
