<p>Jejunal tissues were collected 7 days after irradiation and embedded in paraffin. After fixation and processing, cross sections of jejunum were stained with hematoxylin and eosin and analyzed for the number of surviving crypts (panel <b>A</b>) and villus height (panel <b>B</b>).
