Abstract

Itraconazole is a triazole antifungal used in the treatment of allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA) in patients with cystic fibrosis (CF) and for the prevention of invasive fungal infections in paediatric patients undergoing bone marrow transplants (BMT). The pharmacokinetic (PK) properties of this drug and its active metabolite have been described before; however, there is only sparse information available of the PK properties of this drug in the general paediatric population and CF patients in particular.
