AIM: The aim of this thesis was to explore insight in schizophrenia from the perspectives of patients, relatives and clinicians. Insight scales were examined in order to collate items that were comprehensive with respect to key dimensions of insight but also sufficiently simple to allow use in everyday psychiatric practice. Background "Insight" describes the person's understanding of the nature of their mental illness.
