Abstract

Mono- and trinuclear sumanenyl zirconocene complexes Cp­(sumanenyl)­ZrCl<sub>2</sub>, Cp*­(sumanenyl)­ZrCl<sub>2</sub>, and (C<sub>21</sub>H<sub>9</sub>)­[(Cp*)­ZrCl<sub>2</sub>]<sub>3</sub> were successfully synthesized. In the mononuclear complexes, convex binding with disturbed η<sup>5</sup>-bonding was confirmed in a solid state. As demonstrated in the trinuclear complex, the multibenzylic anion of sumanene offers a novel ligand for the multinuclear metallocenes
