We report herein the versatility of inverse miniemulsion periphery RAFT polymerization (IMEPP) and postpolymerization reaction in producing pH-responsive nanocapsules with different functionalities. The robustness of the polymeric nanocapsules was confirmed by their ability to undergo reactions, be dried, and be redispersed in various solvents without any changes in size and core–shell morphology. Nanocapsules bearing carboxylic acid (COOH) functionalities were produced via hydrolysis, while nanocapsules bearing tertiary-amine (N-X<sub>3</sub>) functionalities were synthesized via aminolysis.
