I decided this year to try and get more and more flexible feedback. Rather than waiting to the last lecture, I sought it quite early in the semester; rather than doing it formally through TEDI, I organised it myself in an obviously informal fashion; rather than statistics and hard factual data, I asked for feelings and opinions; and rather than focusing on how things had been, students were focused on how things were going. In short, I wanted early intervention, personal involvement, and commitment to immediate improvement - all of which is usually precluded by the use of end-of-semester evaluations
